Relatable Weekend
Updated: 2 days ago
Not going to lie guys, it does NOT feel like Sunday. Our whole house got hit with, like, 3 different viruses and on our busiest weekend, too. I always hear about families who all get hit at the same time with a virus and they all struggle, I thought it was a myth, haha!
We had my sister's wedding this past Thursday, a big birthday present trip for my daughter this past Friday, and my neices bday party yesterday and I don't remember a lot of it.
Okay, so here is the load-down. My poor 4 year old caught some weird stomach bug that only hit at night. I'm not kidding. She was fine all day, everyday, but, once 2am hit.... cue the projectile vomit... and it only needed to happen once, because she was fine after! She would go right back to sleep. Then, Saturday came, that's when the diarrhea started. (If you aren't a mom, sorry for the gross images I helped create inside your brain.)
Now, my husband spent the whole week with a cold and then gave it to me and my 1 year old, which was the cherry on top of my sore throat. I was, most definitely, popping tylenol on thursday to get through the wedding without pain. We actually thought my husband was over his cold, but we went to yesterland in Canton, TX this past Friday. It has sections of sand for the kids and it was ALL up in the air. Cue my husbands allergies.
Now, I know what you're thinking, did I really just open a blog post that has nothing but complaints? Yes, yes you did. Life isn't perfect, sometimes you're all sick and your house is a wreck with laundry all over the bedroom, dishes piled up to the moon with empty amazon boxes laying everywhere. It drove me crazy. I am OCD. Each kid came with a little more to add, too.

I know to some it may seem like nothing but a regular Monday, but this was my breaking point. Having to push through the busy days with a smile on my face while we all fought like hell to just get through the day was not my kind of party. Especiall when we were coming home to a house that I work tediously to keep a certain way.
Despite the roughness of what was supposed to be a fun week, it was nice to come home today and just sit and drown in worship with my husband.
The point is, if this was you this weekend or last, or in the past, I'm sorry. You aren't alone, and I hope you know that you are doing great.
